Training FAQ

  • We offer boarding, board and train, private lessons, and day camp services. We can help train your dog in everything from basic obedience, to advanced obedience, protection work, therapy work, service work, etc. We also help aggressive dogs, reactive dogs, and dogs with a variety of other behavioral problems. We offer titles in AKC Family Dog - Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Advance, Urban Canine Good Citizen, and STAR puppy.

  • Yes! Our board and train options allow your dog to stay with us and be pampered while also learning good behaviors. We have a variety of board and train options to suit the needs of every dog and owner. We do offer private lessons as well if you’d prefer to remain with your dog during training.

  • At the end of the board and train program we conduct a lesson to transfer what your dog has learned to you. In this lesson we show you everything your dog is learned first, then we show you how to continue with these behaviors once back home. We want you to be completely comfortable with your dog and their new commands and behaviors before you go back home with them. We also offer refresher lessons and are happy to answer any questions you may have after returning home.

  • There is no one size fits all for dog training. Each dog and situation is very different, which is why we have methods that are fluid depending on the dog and your needs. Our methods focus on consistency, fairness, and motivating the dog to learn and work with the owner. What motivates one dog may be very different than what motivates another.

  • This will vary greatly depending on your needs and the dog. We have board and train programs starting at two weeks in length, but more advanced programs can take anywhere from four to eight weeks or longer in specialty programs like protection or service training. It’s also important to note that training is ongoing - it must be reinforced for the life of the dog.

  • We offer training for puppies once their vaccines have been completed (usually around 16 weeks of age). We are happy to offer a Puppy Consultation program for those with younger puppies. This consultation goes over the typical puppy struggles such as house training, crate training, nipping, chewing, jumping, etc. With this consultation we get you off on the right track with your puppy until they are old enough to begin our training programs.

  • Yes! We offer a variety of different services to make your pup feel even more special during their stay. These include extra treats, walks, play sessions, filled kongs, snuffle mats, lick mats, and outtings. We also offer Spa services that include a bath, nail trim/grinding, ear cleaning, and tooth brushing.

Boarding FAQ

  • We highly recommend that you bring the food your dog is used to eating. This helps avoid any stomach upset that may occur with a sudden food switch. We do have our in-house food available (Inukshuk) if needed.

  • Yes you can! We provide kuranda beds, but you are welcome to bring your own bedding if you’d prefer. A favorite toy is great as well. We do recommend keeping it to non-plush toys and we do not give any rawhides while they are here with us.

  • We do not require a meet and greet before boarding, but we certainly can schedule one if you’d prefer. If you have a dog that is more reserved we are very willing to move slowly and let them get to know us.

  • Yes! Not only is our state of the art facility climate controlled, but it also has a HEPA air filtration system to keep clean air moving at all times.

  • We monitor all dogs closely. In case of illness or injury we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately. If necessary we will take your dog to a veterinarian.

Day Camp FAQ

  • Day Camp is a monthly membership that allows your pup to come stay with us Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. During their stay we work on basic obedience commands and manners.

  • Yes we do! We partner with Dogs On the Go to offer this service and offer a monthly membership option with this service.

  • Generally we do not allow aggressive dogs in our Day Camp program, but if we have trained your dog previously please ask - dogs with behavioral issues are accepted on a case by case basis - this does not mean that these issues will be solved in Day Camp however.

  • Yes! We do require a consultation prior to starting Day Camp if we haven’t trained your dog previously however. Day Camp is not for behavioral problem solving or advance obedience - it is geared toward upkeep training and manners.
